From the Director

Happy 2008! I hope you had a wonderful 2007 and pray that 2008 brings you many blessings!

In the spirit of a new year, let me say that the year that just ended has been, in all seriousness, one of the most fascinating for the Art Park Players. It’s not that anything particularly out of the ordinary transpired. In fact it’s fair to say that we have had more eventful years, encountered more milestones and made more dramatic moves in previous years. But there is something about having been in a place for several years now that has had a terrific impact on our theatre. One great impact that the
staff and I have noticed is that many of our old friends continue to be steadfast and some of our new friends are becoming true friends – and Art Park Players cannot have too many of these. A

lso, my colleagues, including the volunteers and patrons, have demonstrated most thoroughly, in a number of ways, how we have become like family. And the best example that I can give to describe this is, “We all watch out for each other here!”

That statement sums up how I feel about the Art Park Players. It is a theatre that has been so good to me, especially in that it’s given me a chance not only to learn more about my craft – it also allows me to learns some things about people and life and what matters. It’s not that everything has been perfect. When you have a group that has been together as many years as we have, you have to weather the storms and go through moments of sadness and loss as well as triumphs and excitement, in which we become aware of just what we are made of.

I love Art Park Players – not only because it’s given me great opportunities, but also because it’s allowed me to grow where I have been planted.

I consider it a true joy working with this wonderful group of theatre folks that I call family and it is an honor to be a part of your lives. We thank you so much for giving us a home to present shows to you and we will continue to strive to bring you quality family theatre that this community deserves.

May God bless you and your loved ones in 2008! We look forward to seeing you at the shows!

All my love and may your stars continue to shine!
